Age In Place
An aging couple desired to update their 1960s home to have the option to remain in their home as they age or become disabled. The clients required full accessibility to all rooms except guest rooms and the basement. Roof lines could not be altered, and fireplaces had to be remain. Plumbing could be moved or altered. Furniture, fixtures, and materials were to reflect a 1960s design aesthetic, and Texas Accessibility Standards were followed.
I sketched and blocked suggested changes, drew the new floor plan in AutoCAD, and rendered the elevations and 3D views in Google Sketchup. Below is a 2-page project summary. Click on the images for a larger view.
